La Vérité Borzoi

Where the passion lives . . .

| La Vérité means “The Truth” - a noun, not an
adjective. I do not purport to have the One True Borzoi, nor to be
the one with the vision on how to produce such an august animal. I
do, however, intend to honor my roots in this breed by owning,
exhibiting, and breeding Borzoi that are “honest” and “true” to the
standard. Beautiful, athletic animals that are both a delight to the
eye and deadly serious when it comes to their performance
capabilities. Sound in mind and body, possessed of structure,
health, and longevity, as well as humor and wit. Borzoi that can
live, and hunt, with each other as a pack, yet lovingly include the
smallest of humans under their watchful eye. Deadly, swift, and
ferocious hunters that are equally capable of bringing down large,
dangerous prey and delicately licking a tear from a child’s face. This is my vision of the Borzoi. A functional, versatile coursing hound that thrives in our modern world. Preserving all that made him such an honored hound in Czarist and pre-Czarist Russia and makes him such a cherished companion for us today. The path to “The Truth” is a journey, not a destination. I do not expect to arrive there in my lifetime. But the love that I receive from my hounds every moment of every day fuels the passion that I feel for them and this breed. |
