Come join me for a Waltz Across Texas adventure!  Litter theme is Texas cities, towns, and villages.  From Gonzales, where a small group of farmers and ranchers hoisted a battle flag and defied a company of Mexican regulars to start the fight for Texas Independence.  To San Jacinto, where an outmanned, out gunned group of volunteer citizen-soldiers routed one of the most highly trained armies in the western hemisphere to secure Texas Independence.  To Ennis, where a group of Czech farmers, seeking a better life and religious freedom, settled into a strange land and made themselves a part of it.  To Giddings and Serbin, where the Wendish, a Prussian peoples of Slavic origin settled in order to secure their own way of life.  To the towns of New Braunsfels, Fredericksburg, Boerne, Gruene, and Llano where ethnic Germans from all over the world came seeking a life without kings and princes.  To Nacogdoches, the oldest town in Texas, with evidence of Caddo Indian settlement dating back 10,000 years.  The Spanish made it official in 1779, though that was just the Europeans.  The local Indians knew better, and the town retained its Caddo name.  To Spindletop, not the site of the first oil well in Texas, but the site of the first well that confirmed that the riches of the land that was Texas was only surpassed by the riches that laid beneath it.

The proud father is Blaze, BISS Ch. KatZ Classic Cadillac.  Blaze is a Group Winning, Multiple Group Placing, 2008 Top Ten Breed and All-Breed Hound of great majesty and presence.  His outstanding temperament and dazzling ring presence have won him many friends and admirers in Texas during 2008.  Bred by Kitty and Jimmy Sawyer of KatZ Borzoi and owned by Deb Epperson and Neil Podoba, he is a Virago son out of the incredibly lovely Jamie Lee, one of my favorite Borzoi bitches of all time.  The entire litter has had incredible show careers, and at just five years of age, they are due for many more years of great performances in the ring.  I do wish to thank Deb and Neil for allowing me to show Blaze for the past year.  It has been a real treat to get to show a dog of this quality that is also such a wonderful and loving companion when he is at home.  He reminds me so much of the Big White Dog.  It is an honor to have the opportunity to include him in my breeding program.

The doting mother is Terri, DC Aria’s Texas Terror, SC, FCh who is also NACA pointed in the Open Field, with just one excursion to date.  Watching her run, either on lure or jackrabbits, has been one of the highlights of my time in dogs.  She is the essence of a coursing hound.  Long, lean, supple, powerful, agile, and fast.  She is a Valimir daughter out of the beautiful and talented Pixie.  Born into my hands, she has always been my favorite in this litter of great and talented hounds.  I feel fortunate to have been able to share my life with this incredible animal.

The litter consists of six bitches, reds, sabled reds, with one tri and two males, both heavily marked sabled reds.  All are very active and developmentally normal at three weeks of age, with the boys being absolute monsters.  We are expecting beautiful heads, great front and rear angulation, outstanding coursing intensity, and incredible temperaments.
