Terri is a beautiful, intelligent, athletic animal
that is a joy to live with. Sired by my
Valimir out of the beautiful and talented Pixie, she was blessed
with grace, speed, agility, and beauty with which few can compare.
She earned her first conformation points the day before her nine
month birthday. Terri earned her first ASFA coursing points (and her
first BOB) at just six days past her first birthday. Her first AKC
coursing points were a three point major earned the very next week.
She completed her ASFA Field Championship on November 14th, 2004 in
just four trials over a 42 day period. Her AKC coursing championship
took just a bit longer to complete, but she accomplished the task by
winning her third major on December 16, 2006. Terri became a DC-FCh
six months later, on June 16, 2007, by taking her second
conformation major and finishing her AKC conformation championship.
In February of 2007, she also fulfilled a lifelong dream for both of
us, placing second and earning points toward her NACA Open Field
Coursing championship. We will probably never be able to complete
that title, but to know that original purpose is still buried deep
within every fiber of her being thrills me to no end.
Terri's future is still just a bit unsure. She is not a special by either temperament or type. A great coursing hound is rarely a great special. Especially so in bitches. However, we are hoping to continue her march toward her LCX and LCM titles in lure coursing this fall during our all-too-short coursing season. Perhaps we will be able to make a few more trips to the open field as well. We will run her as long as her health and her desire remain strong. Running is what she most desires to do and it seems patently unfair not to allow her to do what she so loves to do. Motherhood is also definitely in her future though the search for the perfect mate has proven to be a bit daunting. Still, we are confident that Terri will prove to be the confident and instructive mother that her own mother was and to raise her babies to be wonderful companions, outstanding show dogs, and incredible coursing hounds. |
