At the Reliant shows in Houston, we met a very nice young couple helping to man the Greyhound Pets of America booth.  They had been actively involved in Greyhound Rescue for many years and currently had four adult Greyhounds in their home.  Talk turned to rescues and placements and so forth, and they expressed an interest in someday perhaps adding a Borzoi to their home.  We gave them one of my cards and told them about the dogs that we had available.  Within a very short time, they had emailed, expressing an interest in Zique.

Within a few weeks, we were at the Joyner's home, carefully introducing Zique to their three male Greyhounds, their dominant female Grey, and their two daughters, Ashley (16) and Gianna (6).  Zique, of course, towered over the male Greys, but saw no reason to force himself on them.  The female, typical of her gender, saw little reason to acknowledge yet another subject and Zique carefully gave the proper deference.  He was enchanted with both of the daughters, following both of them up to their bedrooms and playing happily with both of them.  While I am sure that he was being on his very best behavior, his joy at being a part of this family was very obvious.  We left knowing that Zique had made a most successful journey and had found his home, and family, at last.

We expect to hear much more about Zique and his new family in the future and will post new pictures and news as we receive them.  We are hoping to see the Joyners out lure coursing this fall with Zique and perhaps the youngest of their Greys.  We are certain that there will be many new adventures in store for all of them.
